Surya’s 25th Singam directed by Hari is all set to start rolling from coming August. Director Hari who has earlier given hits like ‘Vel’ and ‘Aaru’ again teaming up with Surya. The film is being produced by K.E.Gnanavel of Studio Green who has earlier made Sillunnu Oru Kaadhal and Paruthiveeran and Big Pictures. The producers are planning the movie for an big 2010 summer release.Surya is currently busy shooting for the climax of K.S Ravikumar’s big budget action extravaganza ‘Aadhavan’ in Cape Town, South Africa. Singam is said to be an action packed Cop movie with the right mix of sentiments and comedy like all Hari films.
Tollywood actress Anushka plays the female lead in the film. The other cast includes Prakash Raj, Nasser and Vivek. This will be second time Suriya will be doing a cop role after Kaakha Kaakha and for Hari too it will be his second police story after his blockbuster Saamy with Vikram.
Devi Sri Prasad is scoring music for the film. VT Vijayan is the editor and Priyan is the cameraman. The first schedule will be completed in Tirunelveli, Ambasamudram, Kutralam, Karaikudi and Thuthukudi while the second schedule will be in Chennai, Hyderabad and Vizag.
